Naomi specializes in comprehensive public art programming and consulting and enjoys working closely with her clients to develop an art program that reflects their unique vision, culture and values. With design/build projects, she studies the architectural plans and recommends locations and genres, budgets, procurement policies and processes. She manages the entire project, overseeing artists’ contracts, timelines and trouble-shooting proactively any installation challenges. She collaborates with the client’s design team and stakeholders to establish thematic direction and integrating with the construction timelines and constraints. Her goal is to seamlessly integrate the art with the architecture, landscape design, and interior finishes by providing the expertise in planning and managing this complex process. Normally, she collaborates with the client’s design team to ensure the visual art programming integrates seamlessly the architecture and interior finishes and landscaping.   Through a "visioning process", Naomi partners with the client to establish thematic direction, budgets, locations, and procurement policies and processes.

From 2010 - 2020, Naomi Nussbaum was retained as Curator for the San Diego Botanic Garden for its Sculpture in the Garden Exhibition, rotating outdoor artworks by regional artists annually. An average of 30 regional artists were selected to exhibit up to 70 works of art. “The quality and diversity of the annual sculpture displays improves each year. The program has grown because artists love having this beautiful setting for their work. Our visitors have a whole other level of enjoyment from their experience in the Garden" said Julian Duval, retired CEO of San Diego Botanic Garden. This project has grown in both sales of artworks and collaborations with local organizations and agencies. Naomi Nussbaum Art & Design’s clients include healthcare, government, educational and religious institutions, private and commercial companies, non-profit organizations as well as private individuals.
